Description of Duties

  • Assistance in administrating, maintaining and operating the daily operations of the new messaging system, provide the command and control operations to include analyzing communications/network systems interfaces and document the operations and technical requirements, assist and attend meetings in a number of committees responsible for addressing systems design, procurement, installation, operation, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Assist senior and mid level managers to establish communications and messaging requirements as they relate to the new messaging system/network to include legacy messaging systems and associated subsystems.
  • Provide formal and informal training and instruction to ensure that junior administrators are proficient in the operating of the systems, networks and equipment that incumbent is responsible for.
  • Conduct system testing in accordance with customer approved test and acceptance plan(s) for networks or systems designed and/or installed by others, and provide operational assistance to the user elements after acceptance on all messaging systems supported by the customer.
  • Recognize and analyze messaging problems that occur with-in the different types of messaging systems or networks that may cause system/network backlogs to include tracking, verifying, reporting and documenting traffic/message errors or problems.
  • Responsible for system backups, maintaining, updating, troubleshooting and restoring all databases, operating systems and application servers that are associated with the new messaging systems and network.
  • Understands and implements contingency plans when on-line messaging systems fail.
  • Functional support within the customer’s network to establish communications and messaging requirements as they relate to the new messaging system and legacy messaging.

Requirements

  • US citizenship
  • Clearance, DOD/DOS Top Secret SCI preferred

Special Skills/ Knowledge/ Work Experience

  • A+ Certification
  • MSCE/MCP preferred
  • 2-3 yrs network
  • 0-2yrs help desk
  • 2-3yrs computer support related experience
  • 2-3yrs customer support experience
