Position Summary
The Human Resource Assistant will assist the Director of HR in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees. Provide clerical and administrative support in such areas as hiring, terminations, personnel records, compensation, and benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and approving invoices for payment.
- Conducts new employee orientations.
- Keep OnPoint 's personnel records up-to-date. Keep track of address changes, changes in job titles, benefits, and salaries.
- Helps to monitor performance appraisal process.
- Assists in the filing of the EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs pertaining to applicant flow procedures.
- Assists in exit interviews and out processing of personnel.
- Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Basic principles and procedures of human resources administration.
- Principles of business letter writing and basic report preparation.
- Principles and practices of payroll and personnel record keeping.
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Computer applications including Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Basic business arithmetic.
Ability to:
- Respond to requests and inquiries from employees.
- Interpret, apply and explain applicable rules and regulations.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality of work records.
- Operate office machines and type at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
- Understand and carry out technical instructions.
- Learn computer software programs; enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
